Staff Interview – Squiggle

March 27, 2025

In celebration of National Pet Day, we’re shining a spotlight on one of the most beloved (and fluffiest) members of the Bluebox team, Squiggle! From morning commutes to office mischief, our four-legged colleague keeps us on our toes while delivering endless smiles. We sat down with him to get the inside scoop on office life, his greatest achievements, and the daily challenges he faces in the corporate world.

  1. What was your background prior to joining Bluebox?

Before joining Bluebox, I lived with my siblings in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. As my brothers and sisters started venturing off to begin their new lives, I figured it was time to start my own career journey. That’s when I first met Tracy. After a few interviews (I made sure to put my best paw forward), I landed my position and made the big move to London to dive into the corporate world.

  1. What does a typical day look like for you?

I start my day by commuting to work with Tracy. I particularly enjoy the quieter train days when I can snag my own seat lying on the floor and dodging shoes is not as fun as it sounds. We arrive at Marylebone station, which is just a short, pleasant walk from the office. Once I step through the door, I’m greeted by the team with lots of love and compliments (I hear I’m “just too cute” on a regular basis). After a quick check of the office perimeter, I settle into my fluffy bed- yes, it’s pink, and yes, real dogs love pink too. Before making my rounds to ensure everyone is staying on task.

  1. What is your favourite part about being in the office?

It has to be the social side of things. I love catching up with my human colleagues, making sure I get my fair share of belly rubs, and keeping everyone entertained. As a more mature member of the team now, I’ve traded chewing wires for supervising snack time. If anyone drops a crumb, I’m there to help with the cleanup.

  1. What is your biggest achievement to date?

I’ve really stepped up my office responsibilities over the years. I take my role as Chief Morale Booster very seriously, and I’m proud to say I’ve perfected the art of comforting team members during busy days. Also, my ‘sit’ and ‘drop’ skills are still top-notch, but now I’ve expanded my repertoire to include ‘paw’ and ‘stay’. All very impressive, if I do say so myself.

  1. What are some of the biggest challenges you face working at Bluebox?

My toughest challenge? Managing my work-life balance. I’m always eager to assist the team, but sometimes I have to remind myself to take a well-earned nap in my bed. And yes, I still find it hard when Tracy leaves the office but I’ve learned that she always comes back, and those reunion moments are the best.

Rapid Fire:

If you could have any superpower, what would it be? To not fall for that trick when humans pretend to throw something for you.

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? Any type of meat. I’m talking sausages, steak, chicken, bacon and none of those biscuits that taste like it. Only the real stuff.

If an actor were to play you in a movie, who would you want it to be? Marley from Marley and Me

Stay tuned for more paw-some updates from our favorite office companion. Happy National Pet Day to all the amazing pets out there who make our lives a little brighter!
