Staff Interview: Elin Jarman – Marketing Assistant

July 1, 2024

Meet Elin Jarman, Bluebox’s new Marketing Assistant. We sat down with Elin to learn a bit more about her background and what drew her towards a career in Marketing at Bluebox as well as finding out a bit more about her outside of work…

What was your background prior to joining Bluebox as a Marketing Assistant?

Before starting at Bluebox I was at the University of Reading doing a degree in Economics and Food Marketing. I really enjoyed my degree as it was very varied, and I got a lot of great opportunities throughout the process. I also did a placement year at Aldi on their Retail Management scheme which gave me great experience in leadership and management as well as key skills required for a job like this for example organisation, creativity and time management.

What were your motivations behind choosing a career in Marketing at Bluebox?

I was motivated to apply for the Marketing position at Bluebox because I believe it is a unique and exceptional opportunity to work for a stable and successful business. Bluebox’s reputation for delivering high-quality services and its innovative approach to corporate finance are highly appealing to me. I am excited about the prospect of contributing to and learning from a dynamic team. The varied experiences and challenges that come with working at Bluebox are exactly what I am looking for to grow and develop my career in marketing.

What is your biggest achievement to date – personal or professional?

My biggest achievement to date has been achieving my Gold Duke of Edinburgh award. I canoed over 140 miles in 5 days including Loch Ness. It was fun experience but, I haven’t been canoeing since.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

You regret the things you don’t do!

What’s the best place you’ve travelled to?

I love New York! I have been about twice now for the winter, and I just love everything there especially the food. I am hoping to go back soon in the Summer to see the Hamptons.

We finish the interview, and you step outside the office and find a lottery ticket that ends up winning £10 million. What would you do?

I would like to go travelling around the world and tick off a few dream destinations. Then would buy a nice house in the Cotswolds and a holiday home in Mallorca where I would spend most of the time at.

You’re currently a Marketing Assistant, but looking forward, where do you hope to be in your career in 10 years time?

In the future I still want to have a career in marketing so I would like to run my own social media management agency.  I have always dreamt of own my own business one day and I have a passion for social media.
