Bluebox’s Jack & Seb Complete the Royal Parks Half Marathon

October 22, 2019

On Sunday 13th October, Bluebox’s Jack and Seb went the extra mile and took part in, and completed, the Royal Parks Half Marathon in aid of our corporate charity, Rays of Sunshine.

Although the weather wasn’t looking too promising, they managed to out run the rain. Jack finished with a time of 1:43.32 and Seb crossing the finish line just three minutes earlier with a time of 1:40:25. Sadly they were not quite able to keep up with James Hoad, who seemed to give everyone a run for their money. However, between the two of them they managed to raise almost £2,000 for Rays of Sunshine!

The race kicked off in Hyde Park just across from Knightsbridge Station and continued through the four Royal Parks – Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St James’s Park, and Green Park, allowing runners to pass some of the capital’s most historic landmarks including Buckingham Palace, Horse Guards Parade and the Royal Albert Hall. Knowing that all the money raised so far was going to such a great cause was enough to keep Jack and Seb motivated throughout!

There are currently up to 49,000 children living in the UK with a life-limiting illness. This figure is increasing every year and Rays of Sunshine believes that every child deserves to experience happiness and put their illness on hold – even if it is just for one day. Their vision is to make wishes come true and turn them in to happy memories. It is not too late to donate, so if you can, please do visit Jack and Sebs donation links below.
